Prime Gaming, which is included with an Amazon Prime subscription, has become a larger part of Amazon’s gaming strategy in recent years as the company continues expanding its cloud gaming and digital distribution ecosystem.
The broader gaming industry is undergoing major structural changes beyond traditional console and PC ecosystems. According to a recent analysis by Gamefi Times, 2025 marked a turning point for blockchain-based gaming as the industry moved away from speculative growth models and toward long-term sustainability. While the sector experienced declining token valuations and reduced funding activity, the correction helped eliminate weaker projects and shifted developer focus toward gameplay quality, user retention, and sustainable monetization. Analysts expect GameFi to re-enter a growth phase in 2026 as infrastructure improves, regulatory clarity expands, and technologies such as AI and stablecoins become more integrated into gaming ecosystems, with projections placing the market’s value between $20 billion and $30 billion next year.
